You can build the plane exactly as the plans state but there are a couple things I do to make the plane a little more rugged.

1) I glue a carbon fiber or plywood reinforcment inside the fuselage because I have seen the fuselage break from a few hard landings.

2) I also recommend 2 aileron servos if you are worried about sloppy torque rods. You don't have to have a rudder.

3) Make sure the battery fits before gluing the fuselage halves together. I have to have mine as far forward as possible every time so far. I also make mine so that I can use a 3 cell lithium between racing dates.

4) I like to use Testors Model Spray Paint for painting. I also have used the "Odds n Ends" brand from Walmart. Just don't put on too much. Make the first coat very light to
avoid melting
the foam.
